I believe in magic

Sometimes I think that there must be a magic word(s)/action that would help to realise all the dreams that we have. All these movies about Genies making your wishes come true - they come to your life strangely dressed, with a long beard, old and wise...and you can wish for anything - they say a magic word and your wish does come true almost same minute. Of course it is only fiction, no more than a fantasy...
Then again, everywhere in the world there are people who are psychics, or people who, following some simple rituals, can "read" your past/present/future, who can predict or even change your life, who can make other people love you (at least they are saying so). Some psychics are real and some pretend to be and actually making lots of money on this business. The conclusion to all this is that people need something to believe in, they need some extra power/help from someone to change something in their life they have no control over. People who need miracles open newspapers, see and ad of a psychic and spend all their money on it...often nothing happens. There is an episode from "Sex and the city" when Charlotte went to several psychics to answer one question "When will I get married"...there was tarot reading, breaking the eggs for yolks etc...and every time the answer was negative...she was stubborn enough in her desire to get married, that she didn't believe in any of it..and eventually got married. Unfortunately there are so many people who believe in everything what these "psychics" say and they simple give up, thinking that there is nothing that can be changed.
In some countries, usually African countries, there are so called "shamans" or medical men, who usually are well respected and who have different roles - they are doctors, they are also responsible for communication with different Gods - God of Rains, Growing, Wealth etc. They know millions of recipes against all kinds of illnesses both physical and mental. May be they do have connection with the other world? People in the communes where these medical men live never doubt their abilities and always come for advice or help. Is it because these countries are not so well-developed? Or do these shamans really possess some extra powers that we, simple people, only can dream about? In any case, people are turning to them when they need help. When they need magic.
There is another type of magical power that people believe in - God. Faith is a guide to many many people all over the world. There all sorts of religions and it is only up to ones which one they choose. There are millions of churches, ashrams, mosques all over the world where people come every day to pray, to ask their Gods for the miracles. They choose their Saints, and devote a lot of time to them in hope that they will be heard, that a miracle will happen. Some people are religious and go to church on the regular basis. (it still doesn't mean they are "saint" or shall I say "well-behaved" in life...) Some people turn to God only as a last hope, when they truly need a miracle and nothing else can help...some turn to God when their life changes all of the sudden - losses of close people, other damages. Faith is a strong power after all, which helps us continue our path on Earth.
Personally, I believe in angels. You know those who are on your shoulders - the bad one and the good one. I think they are with us during all our life, helping us to go through our paths. It is them who make "luck" - if we have powerful angels we are lucky, if not then...I think they do hear us at all times, but they probably know better if we deserve/need something at the moment or not, they probably know our future and can decide better that at that particular moment what we are asking for is not really needed, that we are just being spoiled (instead they give us something we never thought about, but what we really need...it is not always good, but negative as well, that makes us stronger in the end)...sometimes, they store our wishes for later - they make it true when we less expect it or not so passionate about our wish - then we can be objective and think about if we really need something. Sometimes it is too late and we don't need it any more, at other times we are happy and grateful but may wish it had happened long time before.
I also believe that the most important faith is that we have in ourselves. Sometimes it is not in our powers to change something, but it is in our power to accept the situation and let it go. It is in our powers to work hard to achieve something. It is in our powers to believe in good and follow our beliefs and it may change the surrounding world - not the whole world of course but its little part, but it still counts, it might also be a miracle. It is also in our powers to help somebody, coz sometimes we can provide a miracle for somebody by following our usual routine. I believe that there are a lot of magic in this world and that miracles surround us everywhere, and it is only up to us to notice them or not.
